2019 14/20A pub with a bit of panache. Chef Lachlan Cameron (previously of Supernormal and Movida Aqui) serves up a menu where everything is lovingly made in-house and ingredients are allowed to shine. You might start with some Korean fried quail served with spicy mayo, or perhaps the spanner crab with corn crackers. There’s cheese or charcuterie for a little nibble to share. The veal tartare, served with whipped cod roe, is a hit with patrons (and shows again that this isn’t your standard old pub). Move right along to a salmon fillet with fennel puree and black pepper sauce, or perhaps pork and apple sausages. There’s plenty to delight, and the same applies to the drinks. With a great wine list and plenty of beer on tap, what’s not to love?
